Jennifer Bois, MA, LCMHC, Gender Specialist, is currently the owner and operator of Jennifer Bois, PLLC, doing business as A Peaceful Balance Clinical Consultation & Counseling Services.

Jennifer utilizes a welcoming, relational approach to counseling while taking into consideration each client individually and holistically to ensure the most appropriate and affirmative treatment services.

She has worked with adults, adolescents, and children for several years in a variety of settings, to include both direct care and supervisory positions. This experience includes home-based, school-based, outpatient, as well as working with several area nonprofit agencies and a variety of populations.  Jennifer provides outpatient assessment and counseling to clients of all ages, with a variety of presenting concerns, to include psychological trauma, gender identity and transition, relational problems, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and is LGBTQ/Poly/Kink affirmative. She specializes in treatment of adolescent issues through the use of cognitive behavioral, motivational enhancement, and expressive art therapy methods.  She also specializes in working with Transgender/Non-Binary/Gender Non-Conforming individuals and their families, or those struggling with any other gender identity concerns, in accordance with the World Association for Transgender Health Standards of Care.  Jennifer is also a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), as well as the World Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Jennifer received her Bachelor’s Degree from Plymouth State University, and her Master’s Degree with high distinction from Rivier University.  She also earned a postgraduate certificate in Multicultural Counseling from Rivier University. She is a certified provider and gender specialist through WPATH.
